Our new home is easy to find- many of you will know it as the former British Red Cross headquarters building, immediately to the left of Sainsbury’s petrol station in Newport.
The good news is that we are not moving far. Wight Vet’s new home is only around 5 minutes by car or approximately a 10 minute walk from our current premises at 15, Chapel Street, Newport.

Free Parking and More Space
One of the biggest improvements for our clients will be ample free parking on site while you are visiting the practice. We know this will be widely welcomed.
Our new premises are considerably larger and will give us much more space to look after our clients, patients and team members. There will be a larger, more comfortable waiting room and additional consulting capacity, enabling us to offer a greater choice of consultation times.
The additional space also means we can further improve our clinical facilities and invest in more equipment. This includes new dental X-ray and new Doppler ultrasound from 21st September, helping us to provide an even wider range of diagnostic services.
The Same Wight Vets Team
Although our surroundings are changing, Wight Vets itself is not changing.
You will continue to be looked after by the same team, the ownership of the practice remains the same and we will continue to offer all the veterinary services you currently receive from us.
Importantly, this includes our home visiting service with our specially adapted electric vehicle “Voltie” which we know is particularly valued by many of our clients.
We have always been and remain an Independent Veterinary Practice – meaning we are entirely owned and run by local vets John and Emily Knight.
Our approach to veterinary care will remain exactly as it is today. We will continue to provide the pragmatic, individually tailored and contextualised care for which Wight Vets is well known, taking the time to consider what is right for each individual patient and their owner.
Our move simply gives us a better environment in which to provide that care, with more space, improved facilities and the added convenience of free parking.
When Are We Moving?
Our practice at 15 Chapel Street will remain open as usual until 5.30pm on Friday 18 September.
We will then move over the weekend and reopen at Hunnycross Way on Monday 21 September.
There is no need for you to do anything as a result of the move except to arrive at the correct premises if you have an appointment with us.
We are still Wight Vets – just in a new and improved home.
Once we are fully settled, we also plan to hold an open day so that clients and members of the local community can come and have a look around our new facilities.
The whole Wight Vets team is incredibly excited about the move. Most importantly, we are looking forward to welcoming you and our patients through the doors of our new premises and continuing to provide the personal veterinary care you know and trust.
